Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Fernie and the Elk Valley. Storm after storm has blessed Fernie with the most snow of any ski town in Western Canada!

A cold front tracking across the interior will give snow beginning this morning and becoming heavy at times tonight. Total snowfall amounts of 15 cm can be expected by Friday morning.

Snow will create hazardous driving conditions, slow down, be careful and adjust your driving with the changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

All backcountry users should be checking the bulletin with Avalanche Canada, the new show will increase the hazard.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
