
The Fun Field Festival returns this weekend with a new venue south of Fernie in Wardner, offering three days of music, arts, family fun, and wellness activities. From Friday through Sunday, June 28–30, the fields of Wardner will come alive with performances, parades, and community celebration.
Friday Night: Battle of the Jam BandsFriday night from 6 to 11 p.m. kicks off the weekend with a regional showdown featuring musicians from Fernie, Sparwood, Elkford, Jaffray, and Cranbrook. Hosted by local favorite Top’O, the “Battle of the Jam Bands” invites festivalgoers to help crown the top group with cheers and votes.

Headliner Mariya Stokes
On Saturday, Alberta’s Mariya Stokes will bring her acclaimed new album Mood Ring to the stage. Known for her genre-blending sound and empowering lyrics, Stokes has gained national attention and shared the stage with top country acts across Canada. Her set is expected to be a highlight of the weekend.
Saturday Lineup: Puppets, Parades, and Live MusicSaturday morning begins with the Bohemian Misfits assembling a 16-foot elephant puppet at 11:30 a.m., followed by a circus-themed parade at 12:30 p.m. that winds through the festival grounds. From 1 p.m. to midnight the following musical acts will perform on the main stage:

Activities for kids run from 1 to 6 p.m. and include pony rides, face painting, sand sculpting, sing-alongs, and games. The GrassHopBar beverage garden, food trucks, and vendor market will be open throughout the day. Pancake breakfasts with eggs and sausages will be available Saturday and Sunday from 9 to 11 a.m. for $10.
Sunday: Wellness and ArtSunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. offers a relaxed lineup focused on rejuvenation, featuring live-beat yoga, ecstatic dance, a Finnish wood sauna, and massage and reiki treatments. Art installations, forest school crafts, and adult games and scavenger hunts will round out the final day.
