The Fernie Rod and Gun Club’s 3-D Fun shoot and the Elk Valley Extreme 3-D Shoot drew a record number of shooters last weekend. There were 203 registered shooters for the fun shoot over the weekend with fifty of the shooters taking on the Extreme qualifying course. The finals for the Elk Valley Extreme shoot took place Saturday night on the archery range and in the end Cody Draper took 1st place and the $1000 prize. Coming second only one point behind was TJ Watson of Fernie and third was a tie between Fernie’s Daniel Stephenson and Morris Sebolsky. The top juniors in the Extreme shoot were Daniel Stephenson (1st), Jordan Adachie (2nd) and Matt Hogg (3rd). The top ladies were Janice Marasco (1st), Tammy Friel (2nd), and Dixie Evano (3rd). The top 7 shooters along with all the women and juniors received great prizes for their participation in the Elk Valley Extreme. Congrats to all the winners!!! The Elk Valley Extreme shoot was co-sponsored and organized by the Sparwood Wildlife Association, Fernie Rod and Gun Club and Kootenay Archery. The FRGC would like to thank all the businesses and people that donated to this huge event, without your support we would have never had such a successful event. A big thank you to Doug Temple and his family for running the concession stand the last two 3-D shoots and also Cameron Enterprises for all their help and donations. And last but not least it would not ever have happened without the many, many, many hours put in by volunteers to prepare, setup and take down the four different 3-D courses and range activities. Great job everyone!!!
