Fernie’s opening day preview weekend was a huge success with excellent weather and great grooming on the early season 1.3 meter base.
As in the past consecutive 12 years, the legend Greg Barrow of Edge of the World was on the first lift of the new season. Greg, wearing orange and hauling his customary board, was thrilled to once again to be on the first chair. Greg was accompanied this year by Paul Attalla and his two daughters, Joy and Ami, who camped out at the base of the lift with -15c temperatures to ensure their seat!
The grooming crew are to be thanked for their excellent work in making opening day so enjoyable! Now may the Griz bless us with our next dump of legendary snow!
