The Fernie Nordic Trails Open with the Fernie Golf Course and city dyke trails groomed for skiing! Additionally, the Elk Valley Nordic Centre (EVNC) trails from the stadium south to the Teck Bridge will open on Saturday, November 23rd.
While the EVNC is not officially open, you are welcome to explore the trails north of the Teck Bridge at your own leisure and risk. Please avoid the Teck Bridge area on Saturday, as work is being done on the bridge.
A snowcat grooming of the EVNC trails will take place on Saturday morning, thanks to our incredible volunteer grooming team!
Trail Closures:
The Fernie Nordic Society will close the trails south of the Teck Bridge over the weekend due to ongoing work in the Lower Runt and Grunt area. Crews will be clearing burn piles and wood chipping. We’ll provide updates when more trails become available.
Important Notices:
• The warming hut will NOT be open to the public or members this weekend. It will be used exclusively for the race team’s wax clinic fundraiser. Bring your skis out and support the Team!
• Please dress warmly, stay safe, and enjoy your time on the trails!
