Letters of Interest are invited for a “Collaborative Public Art’ program to the value of $3,500.00 (inclusive of GST and all other associated costs). The program is open to all art disciplines including but not restricted to visual arts, written word, performing arts or a combination arts program. The collaboration could also exist within an existing event or festival.

Public art stimulates, entertains, instructs and, occasionally, provokes its audience. Endlessly diverse and adaptable, public art can engage us from above our heads or under our feet. Direct contact between art and visitor in an open space, free of gallery walls, is public art’s greatest gift and this gift is best enjoyed when we shed our routine expectations of urban space. The Arts Station has allocated funds to develop a public art installation in collaboration with the community recognizing the importance of art and the involvement of artists working within the City of Fernie, British Columbia. Developing an artistic concept, the artist will enroll the community and community groups to assist in the artwork to be presented.
