The BC Wakesurf Provincial Championships return to Lake Koocanusa on Saturday, August 15, bringing wakesurfers from across the province to Koocanusa Village.
Registration is now open for the one-day provincial competition, which welcomes riders of all ages and skill levels.
“We are excited once again to host the BC Provincial Championships and welcome surfers from across the province to take part,” says organizing committee member Loree Duczek. “It’s open to all ages and all levels of surfing and is aimed at celebrating the sport and the surf community.”
Wakesurfing involves riding the continuous wave created behind a specialized boat. Competitors are organized into divisions based on factors such as age and ability, allowing developing riders and experienced competitors to take part.
The BC Wakesurf Provincial Championships will be held at Koocanusa Village on Lake Koocanusa on Saturday, August 15.
Registration closes at noon on Tuesday, August 11, and all riders must register in advance. Late registrations will not be accepted.
“All riders must register in advance and there will be no late registrations, so it’s important all riders get signed up by the 11th,” adds Duczek.
