This past weekend the Emily Brydon Youth Foundation won its category, Sports and Recreation Game Changer, at the Kootenay Game Changers Awards Gala. The Kootenay Game Changers Awards celebrate unsung heroes in the Kootenay region. Emily and Rosemary Brydon extended an enormous amount of gratitude to the community of Fernie for the continued support.

The Emily Brydon Youth Foundation enables the dreams and passion of youth in the Elk Valley through program support in sports, arts and education. The support model is built on matching the financial means with a youth’s dreams, ambitions and desires. The EBYF is a foundation that epitomizes the power of community: watch out for your neighbour, make a difference for the next generation, and pay it forward.

This foundation is changing lives. It is creating opportunity to those who have dreams, need a helping hand or strive for a diversified experience across various channels, activities and sports. The EBYF strives to open doors – to provide that sometimes needed boost forward.

To date the Foundation has invested over $400k in the youth of the Elk Valley and will continue to invest in their future. Support the EBYF on December 2nd and join Emily Brydon at Island Lake Lodge for a dinner and live auction to raise money for youth. Read more here.
