EK Employment and the Fernie Chamber have partnered up to offer the Elk Valley the first ever spring job fair. For the past five years, EK Employment has been hosting the Annual Job Fair every October to connect jobseekers and employers for the various jobs in the winter season.

“Fernie has not only become a winter destination but is now considered a world renowned destination year round.” said Brenda Sutherland, Marketing and Community Engagement Liaison. “As a result workforce demand among our local employers has increased and we’re hoping the Spring Job Fair will help create a solution.”

All Elk Valley employers are invited to participate in the Spring Job Fair to help create the opportunity to find the right people for summer staffing needs. The Job Fair will provide employers the opportunity to meet with applicants face to face and conduct on the spot interviews.

The Spring Job Fair is free for both employers and jobseekers and will be held on May 3rd from 2 – 5. Employers will have from 1:30 – 2pm to set up before the doors open to the jobseekers. This year, the Job Fair will be located at the Fernie Family Centre at 521 4th Avenue. All businesses and community associations are required to sign up by April 26th, 2018. As business registrations come in, we will add your business and staffing needs to our ongoing promotional efforts.

EK Employment and the Fernie Chamber look forward to a successful first Spring Job Fair and hopefully many to come.
