100 Women Who Care Fernie

100 Women Who Care Fernie has once again demonstrated the power of collective giving, raising $10,000 at its November 6, 2025 Giving Event. Since launching in 2020, the group has contributed more than $100,000 to grassroots organizations across the Elk Valley, strengthening community supports through simple, effective philanthropy.

The Giving Event follows the group’s signature model: each member donates $100 and nominates a local charity. Six nominations are randomly selected to present their work, members vote following the pitches, and the two organizations receiving the most votes share all funds raised that evening.

At the November event, the Elk Valley Christmas Cheer Committee and the Fernie Women’s Resource Centre received the top votes and will share the full $10,000. These funds will help both organizations continue delivering vital programs and services to individuals and families throughout the region during the busy winter season.

The event’s success was supported by generous contributions from local partners including The Loaf Italian Restaurant, Mountain Luxe Services & Events, Patti’s Party Tent Rentals, SOAR Studios, and Gabbi Escobar Film & Digital Photography.

Now in its 11th Giving Event, 100 Women Who Care Fernie continues to grow its impact by uniting local women behind a common goal: using collective giving to create meaningful, lasting change in the Elk Valley. Through this model, individual donations are amplified, relationships are strengthened, and essential funding flows directly to organizations that serve the community.
