The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) Area A Volunteer of the Year Nominations are now open! Volunteers are the heart of our communities, and it’s time to give them the recognition they deserve!
This annual award honors individuals who selflessly contribute their time, talents, and passion to their community.
Nominees must be:
• Full-time residents of Electoral Area A (from Elkford to Morrissey).
• Living outside incorporated municipalities (Fernie, Elkford, and Sparwood).
• Making unpaid contributions to the spirit, culture, or people of their area.
Volunteerism takes many forms, from public roles to behind-the-scenes contributions. The RDEK is seeking nominations for those who consistently make Area A a better place to live.
How to Nominate
The nomination form can be completed online here, and submissions are due by February 4, 2025, at 12 PM.
When submitting a nomination, be sure to include detailed information about the nominee’s contributions and accomplishments. The more details provided, the better the RDEK can understand and celebrate their impact.
