The 2024 Fernie Business Excellence Awards took center stage last night at a sold-out gala held at the Fernie Golf Club. Members of the Fernie community gathered to honor the businesses, organizations, and individuals that make Fernie thrive. Opening remarks were given by Deputy Mayor Ted Shoesmith and Chamber Chair Antony McElwee, setting the tone for an evening of celebration and recognition.
Executive Director Wendy McDougall shared her gratitude, saying, “This year’s Business Excellence Awards have been especially meaningful, not only because we’re celebrating during Small Business Week, but because the dedication and resilience of our business community continue to inspire me. Reading through the nominations reminds me why Fernie is such a remarkable place to live and work, thanks to entrepreneurs who are progressive, inclusive, and deeply supportive of our community. It’s an honor to be part of this amazing celebration.”
The awards presentation was led by the lively and entertaining local MC, Sadie Rosgen. The Fernie Chamber extended its appreciation to everyone who submitted nominations and congratulated all nominees, finalists, and award recipients for their outstanding contributions.
