Elk Valley Snow Shepherds snowmobile clinics offer personalized instruction from a skilled, professional coaching staff with systematic lessons to enhance every level of rider in a supportive, inspiring environment. The 19/20 winter series will connect sledders with the right level of challenge while providing resources to refine current skills and take your riding farther this season. Have fun, gain confidence and learn the skills to master your sled and ride the mountains in style.

CLINIC 1: NOVICE ‘BREAK IT DOWN’ JANUARY 11 & 12, 2020
Do you ride occasionally in the backcountry or deep snow but are unable to sidehill confidently and struggle to countersteer? Wonder why you are stuck all the time? Perhaps apprehensive to try new things? Our coaches Break It Down with systematic approaches to improve confidence and riding fundamentals through fun drills. Specific skills included:

Intro to the concept of ‘constant motion’
Using throttle/brake appropriately for control
Getting your sled ‘on edge’
Avalanche safety primer
Personalized review of sled set up to enhance your riding

CLINIC 2: LADIES ONLY ALL LEVEL ‘BUILD IT UP’ FEBRUARY 8 & 9, 2020
Are you a rider who relies on throttle instead of technical skills to navigate steeper or treed terrain? Perhaps you feel limited due to a ‘weak-side’ or lack ‘flow’ in your riding. In this clinic Coach Steph will help the ladies Built It Up with a series of follow-me sessions and drills to get you out of that comfort zone and establish consistency in your riding. Specific skills included:

Smooth motion and timing
Using sled mechanics to your advantage
Improved symmetry
Throttle/brake control
Using good riding technique to get out of tricky terrain
Avalanche rescue skills review

CLINIC 3: ADVANCED ‘DIAL IT IN’ MARCH 7 & 8, 2020
You are a confident rider and enjoy steep, technical terrain but struggle to incorporate dynamic movement to maximize performance. Perhaps you have a few lingering ‘weak spots’ in your riding? In this high-energy clinic, coaches Steph and Dave will help you redefine your limits and Dial It In with professional-level tips and tricks you can incorporate into your skills portfolio. Specific skills included:

Navigating challenging technical terrain and conditions using proper techniques and planning
Jumps/drops
Using track speed and momentum to master control
Managing failing hillclimbs
Maximize your sled set up to improve performance
Leading an avalanche rescue

About Stephanie Schwartz:
One of the most recognized names in the women’s snowmobile scene is Revelstoke’s Stephanie Schwartz. By day, she is a full-time employee for Divas SnowGear, helping to manage athletes and facilitate product design, but she also maintains a part-time position with Red Deer, Alberta’s Turple Brothers Ltd. Her passion for mentoring new riders has now developed into international clinics where women from all walks of life participate and learn from Schwartz, who has a decade of experience mentoring new riders.
