The Elk River Alliance invites you to the Knowing Water Public Symposium for a series of fascinating talks on the different ways of understanding water.
Speakers include representatives from Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi ‘it First Nation (TP Tobacco Plains), the City of Fernie, BC Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Living Lakes Canada, and the Elk River Alliance. Learn from subject matter experts about the different aspects of understanding water, ranging from Indigenous Knowledge to local and scientific knowledge. You will have a chance to ask each speaker questions, and engage in a community discussion to voice your water concerns.
This event is presented by the Elk River Watershed Collaborative Monitoring Program, an initiative to unite perspectives, knowledge bases, and data sources for a mutual understanding of Elk Valley water.
