The BOOKED! Fernie Writers’ Series with Glenn Dixon will launch the 2026–27 season with the bestselling author, documentary filmmaker and musician in conversation with acclaimed Fernie author Angie Abdou.

Dixon’s memoir Juliet’s Answer was a national bestseller, published in 12 countries and translated into German, Spanish and Chinese. He has presented his work at literary festivals across Canada and appeared on major podcasts in Canada, Germany and Italy.

His shorter works have appeared in National Geographic, The New Yorker, Psychology Today, The New York Post, The Walrus and The Globe and Mail.

Dixon’s latest novel, The Infinite Sadness of Small Appliances, was published in April 2026. Set in the near future, the novel follows the appliances in a smart house—particularly a young Roomba vacuum named Scout—as they attempt to save their elderly owners from the insidious grid controlling the city.

The library will close to the public at 6 p.m. in preparation for the event. Doors open at 7 p.m.
