 unch the 2026–27 season with the bestselling author\, documentary filmma
 ker and musician in conversation with acclaimed Fernie author Angie Abdou.
 \n\nDixon’s memoir Juliet’s Answer was a national bestseller\, publish
 ed in 12 countries and translated into German\, Spanish and Chinese. He ha
 s presented his work at literary festivals across Canada and appeared on m
 ajor podcasts in Canada\, Germany and Italy.\n\nHis shorter works have app
 eared in National Geographic\, The New Yorker\, Psychology Today\, The New
  York Post\, The Walrus and The Globe and Mail.\n\nDixon’s latest novel\
 , The Infinite Sadness of Small Appliances\, was published in April 2026. 
 Set in the near future\, the novel follows the appliances in a smart house
 —particularly a young Roomba vacuum named Scout—as they attempt to sav
 e their elderly owners from the insidious grid controlling the city.\n\nTh
 e library will close to the public at 6 p.m. in preparation for the event.
  Doors open at 7 p.m.\n\nAdmission is free by reservation here. A cash bar
 \, complimentary charcuterie and books for purchase will be available.\n\n
 This is a 19+ event. The main floor is wheelchair-accessible\, and an elev
 ator is available for washroom access.
