Alex Buckman is a child survivor from Belgium who survived the Holocaust in hiding. Today, he is President of the Vancouver Child Survivor Group. Alex has shared his story of survival with thousands of individuals, and he is in Fernie to speak with the Elk Valley community.

All individuals grade 7 and up are invited to attend this unique opportunity and bear witness to Alex’s story. By learning from the past, may we honour the memory of those who perished, and may we learn for the future. May we learn to build a world and community that values tolerance, kindness and respect for all peoples.
