      Im moving to the elk valley at the begining of january and am looking to rent long term (1yr +) in the fernie, sparwood or somewhere in between.

      Do you plan on staying longer than a year? Do you want to eventually buy something in the Valley? We have a place for sale for under 300K in Elko; 20 minutes from Fernie & 40 minutes from Sparwood. Just thought I would ask…

      Is there anything for rent or for sale in these areas that are AFFORDABLE?
      Will be employed in your area soon.

      Depends on what you consider affordable. I certainly dont think that 100 year old miners homes for 400K are affordable, so I would rule out Fernie for the most part. Sparwood & the South Country are still somewhat reasonable. It all depends on where you want to live…

      Thanks for the info, My job starts on Dec 1, 2008. I am desperate to buy, or rent in any area of sparwood, elkford, or fernie. Mobiles anyone? Thanks
