      Summer Camp Assistant Instructor

      Trit Trot Farms is a combined equestrian, dog boarding and RV camping facility located 15km outside Fernie. http://www.trittrotfarms.com Throughout July and August we are running children’s summer camps teaching all aspects of riding and horse care in a fun and safe environment.

      Working under the supervision of the Program Leader the successful candidate will be involved in the whole camp experience taking an active role in teaching and supervising horse management and riding lessons, trail rides and crafts. This is a highly rewarding position.

      Our number one priority is safety so the successful candidate should have a solid knowledge of equine safety, a good eye for risk management and display effective group control.

      In addition the successful candidate will be a knowledgeable horse person and rider passionate about sharing their knowledge with children. You should be reliable with good time management and present yourself in a professional manner. Preference will be given to those with previous experience working with children, particularly in an instructional context. First aid qualification desired but not essential. Minimum age for this position is 18 years.

      As this position involves working with children a police check will be asked of the successful applicant.
