On the Coal Discovery Trail between Loose Change and Little Chainring, two mountain bikers encountered a back bear sow with cubs. The sow came at one rider in a full on charge, he started bear spraying her from 5 meters, she finally did a 180 when she was within one meter! Right by the front wheel of his bike. She started coming in again, but by this time there were two of them and a dog there so she retreated and started trying to round up her cubs.
They backtracked and went up Loose Change to the road up to the rode then back to town.
If you are in the area in the next day or so just be aware! Carrying bear spray is not such a bad practice.
