I’m coming out there at the end of July. How is the mountain biking there? The ski hill has good stuff? I have heard of the microwave tower, is it easy to get to?

The mountain biking in Fernie is amazing. Check out the link below for some local mountain bike reports. Once in town, stop in any shop or coffee spot and purchase a Fernie Trail Guide. The chair assisted riding at Fernie Alpine Resort is worth the lift pass. You will need a 4 x 4 to access the microwave tower.
