Bring minimal gear i spose if ya really only goin to be stuck to a board?
do ya need like a minus 50 sleeping bag?
can ya get a pass that covers mountains all over canada? for 6 weeks.
Yer i know im lazy but eh ill be goin from boardshorts and 32 degrees c to beyond freezing right?
spose i’ll need somewhere warm to sleep. anyone who wants to land in western australia one day and get the grand tour of the south west(margaret river, yallingup) and surf some good waves, catch big fish and stay in the mellowest place here. living like a king/queen. and be treated to all our local produce.. noi worries, you help me i’ll help you.

hey brendan. A month? just watch that turn into longer :) easy to do. The quickest way is to fly into Cranbrook (an Air Canada flight from Vancouver). From Cranbrook it is an hour to Fernie. Then you could take the Greyhound here, better than the 8hr trip from Calgary. Also, lots of people from Fernie go to and from Cranbrook all the time, so hitching could be an option, or posting on this forum to see if anyone will be there the same time as you.
Calgary is the next option, 3hrs from Fernie. Lots of shuttles buses going to and from Fernie…about $60 or so to do that.
Once you’re here, cheap accommodation is at the Raging Elk hostel. And it’s not too cold inside, you’ll be fine!!! from what I hear, I believe they provide bedding anyway.
      enjoy!
