Hi!
We’re a group of 2 couples that are hoping to visit Fernie in January from the UK. The 2 boys are experienced snowboarders, both of the girls are snowboarding beginners, but 1 can ski.
Can someone please advise what Apres Ski is available, where the shops are and if there are spas and hot tubs for public use?
Is Fernie a resort that is recommended for novices? Will the girls have fun?
Thanks

Hey kids,
the one thing that you have to remember is that you are visiting the old west….this is not downtown london, and you would be let down if you come here expecting the same services as what you would expect in the big city. Fernie rocks, with lots of great places to have a drink, and a good party atmosphere, especially if it snows…there is a good crew of people from around the world here and that adds to the atmosphere.. there is a pool with a hot ttub, that is open every day after skiing, but the shopping is limited, there are a few fine stores downtown , but not enough for the girls if they are expecting a shopping holiday. this is no banff, or whistler.. As far as the skiing goes, it is unparralled, the boys will love it, and the girls will have to take some lessons….

Thanks Moke,
I think everything you’ve said sounds fine for us girls and will certainly keep us amused whilst we’re here. We’re not from a large town ourselves (not London) so we don’t expect shopping malls ets! But something for us to spend our hard earned dollars in when we get too sore from falling down!

The girls bums shouldn`t get too sore if you are falling down in Powder. It will be your arms that get sore getting yourself back up.
Enjoy the visit . With the recent snow we have had, everybody is stoked! -
