Winter is upon us, and the Fernie Nordic Society is getting ready for another successful season of ski lessons for kids!
The Fernie Nordic Society has opportunities for adults wishing to help out with the Jackrabbits Ski Program, teaching kids from aged 3 into early teens the joy of cross-country skiing. Enthusiasm and some comfort on skis is all that is required: we will pay for training by Cross Country BC, and fit you with an appropriately skilled class. Classes start in the new year, and run every Saturday morning at 10am. This is a volunteer position.
Other general volunteer opportunities are available. We are always looking for new energy to expand our programs, and help develop a strong nordic network in our community.
