Best route from Calgary to Fernie

What is the best (quickest) way from Calgary to Fernie? Route 2 South – Route 3 West, or Route 2 South – Route 7 West – Route 22 South – Route 3 West? Is Route 2 a 4-lane all the way to Route 3?

Highway 22 is the quickest and most scenic. I take it all the time in exception when the road is snow covered. When driving at night keep those eyes peeled for suicide deer! You save a good 30 minutes the 22 way.
