the tax man is watching "W" the most b/c you tried to rent your suite out weekly. Only monthly or longer rentals are allowed in Fernie. Affordable housing is a huge issue…..for locals. Why help tourists find a place to stay when local people have no place to live. Are you new to town "W"?

no I’m not new to town and am aware of the rental shortages in town, however I am not looking to rent long term and quite enjoy having the use of my basment, this is why if I can accomadate the odd person on a short visit I will, if nobody needs a place to stay while there here for the week then thats fine too.. my family and friends have a place to stay when in town.

p.s. just incase you haven’t read the tax laws yourself, long term and seasonal rentals are taxable aswell.
