It has been my experience that snow blades are fun toys to play on fun hills with. Fernie is a mountain. You’ll have fun messing around on the bottom runs where the snow is packed down but if you want to experience the whole mountain you probably won’t enjoy it. One of our buddies used to insist on snowblading when he came with us and we CONSTANTLY had to wait for him when we were up high because he would just sink in the snow and be digging himself out every 50 feet. When he did manage to stay on top of the snow his maximum speed was not speed at all. I guess if everyone you are with is snowblading you might have a good time, but if you’re going with boarders or skiers, do them a favor and skip the blades.
