We stayed at the Royal Playa del Carmen on the Mayan Riviera in Mexico in November. It’s expensive, but totally worth it. It’s an all inclusive resort, beach front but in town. When you’re on the resort you don’t feel like you’re in town, but when you walk out the front and go 2 blocks you’re in the main shopping part of town. As mentioned it is more expensive, but it’s adults only, has awesome restaurants (including a 24 hour lounge with snacks), 24 hour room service and the staff are genuinely happy to work there. It’s not a good place if your single and looking for a ‘vacation relationship’ because it’s mostly couples. We’ve been to Mexico 6 times and would definitely go back here.
