With Fernie you get a little bit of everything. You get the retired people who have broke there backs just to make a buck. and put in many long hard years in the coal mines, back roads, etc, and now they are staying to watch their grandchildren grow up. Then you get the local baby boomers who make up a large part of the population, also breaking their backs to be able to raise their kids here. Then there’s the "albertans/australians/non locals" who all get grouped into the same basket with some of the vocal locals who don’t quiet see that we need them to survive… But they get over it eventually!
Fernie is a safe place to grow your family and enjoy everything there is great about BC and Canada.
