Mike Sosnowski , Director of Regional District Area A, is asking the voters for their continued support in the upcoming October election. Sosnowski is seeking his fourth term to represent rural residents residing from Elkford to Elko in the Regional District of the East Kootenay (RDEK).
“I believe there is more to do this term. I have worked well with RDEK staff and other levels of government to accomplish some significant projects for the Valley and Fernie area.
My health is good and I have a lot of energy for some of the initiatives in progress such as flood mitigation and a major intersection upgrade in the Hosmer area”, said Sosnowski.
Sosnowski furthered, “I am committed to the taxpayer and have continued to review all matters with a great degree of scrutiny and I believe my experience has been an asset in carrying out the role.”
Sosnowski generated solutions for community initiatives that had previously stalled for decades. Most notably was the West Fernie Servicing project. Sosnowski brought the Government of Canada and British Columbia together to help fund the $5.4 million initiative, it was the 2nd highest allocation in the province and the biggest initiative in the RDEK in decades.
“Most importantly”, said Sosnowski, “I really enjoy working on behalf of the Elk Valley residents. We led the Province with some very innovative and ambitious projects in the past and I look forward to the new challenges in the future. I encourage everyone who would like information on anything about the Regional District to contact me by calling 250-423-1029 or mike@directorarea.ca“.
