Dan McDonald and Patrick Callahan owners of Mica Heli Guides in Revelstoke BC have purchased the shares of Island Lake Holdings Ltd. effective April 5, 2005. Island Lake Holdings Ltd. is the parent company of Island Lake Lodge and Powder Cowboy Cat Skiing both of Fernie BC.
Dan McDonald was one of the original founding shareholders in Island Lake and has had a long emotional attachment to the Cedar Valley and the Island Lake lands. Dan is happy to once again be the owner of this magnificent piece of property and operation.
John Birrell and the rest of the Management team will stay in place and continue to manage the business going forward.
Island Lake Resort Group owns and operates two cat-skiing operations in the Canadian Rockies: Island Lake Lodge and Powder Cowboy Cat-Skiing Tours (formerly Sno-Much-Fun). Island Lake Lodge offers 3 and 4-day tours for 36 guests on 5000 acres of open bowls and perfect tree skiing, and has spent 16 years developing and defining cat-skiing in Canada. Powder Cowboy Cat-Skiing Tours has 3 and 4-day tours for 24 guests skiing/boarding on 6000 acres of terrain, comprised of open slopes and gladed trees.
Operating since 2002, Mica Heli Guides offers multi-day heli skiing packages for three groups of four in the A-star helicopter on a vast terrain of 4,700 square kilometers.
