GearHub Sports has opened a new rental shop in Fernie. The rentals-focused second location in called GearHub Adventure Rentals.
The new rentals shop is operating out of the Fernie Stanford Hotel, following GearHub’s acquisition and re-branding of the previously operating SnowPro Rentals. GearHub Adventure Rentals offers a broad range of winter and summer sports rental equipment for adults and for kids. “We’ve seen a huge demand for rentals at our downtown location, and we’re excited to expand our offerings with Adventure Rentals” says GearHub co-owner and manager Mark Hall.
Winter rentals available at Adventure Rentals include high and mid performance downhill skis, boots, and poles for adults and kids from K2, Nordica, Blizzard and Rossignol. Adventure Rentals will also be offering a selection of adult and kids snowboards and boots from Burton, cross-country skis gear from Fischer, and Rocky Mountain fatbikes as well as snow shoes and accessories. Adventure Rentals is open daily from 8am – 11am, and 3pm – 8pm.
Conveniently located halfway between downtown Fernie and Fernie Alpine Resort, at the intersection to Mount Fernie Provincial park, Adventure Rentals will provide visitors and locals alike with a convenient place to gear up for a day of outdoor activities. “People come to Fernie to experience the outdoors.” says Hall. “We want to give them the tools they need for a great time outside.”
In the summer months, GearHub Adventure Rentals will rent out mountain bikes (both all-mountain and downhill), stand up paddleboards, river rafts, and more. “The Adventure Rentals location will allow us to expand our existing rental bike fleet – we’re adding more downhill bikes and all-mountain bikes for those who want to ride the bike park in the summer.” says Hall. “It’s also in the ideal place for renting out water sports equipment – it’s only 30 meters from the river!”
