1. Get outdoors — Go river rafting, Mountain Bike or Hike
The Elk and Bull River’s are running at an excellent level. Book an exciting raft trip or dust off the kayak! The trails below 4500 ft and southern facing are dry and open. This is a great weekend to get out on the local trails for a hike or mountain bike.

2. Fernie Mountain Bike Club Spring Bike Blitz
The Fernie Mountain Bike Club is hosting its annual Spring Bike Blitz Bring out your used steeds and don’t be shy, people are buying everything from townies to expensive road and mountain bikes.

The East Kootenay Brain Injuries Association (EKBIA) are organizing the first annual Fernie Spring Clean, a community focused event where businesses and households host a garage sale all on the same day.
The City is offering residential households within the City of Fernie FREE pick up of LAWN AND GARDEN WASTE (NO household garbage – just grass clippings, brush, weeds, small tree branches less than 6” in diameter). Garden waste will be transported to the composting station at the RDEK Transfer Station and must be placed on the curb by 7:00 a.m. in the same location as regular garbage pick-up in all areas except the Annex and Maintown which will be picked up in the alley.

4. Soweca Chamber of Commerce Music Festival – Recital Program
Soweca Chamber Music Festival Recital artists perform salon showpieces demonstrating their greatest technical skills in Fernie. Solo flute, oboe, violin, cello, viola; all accompanied by piano two and four hands.

5. Fernie Weekly Ladies Soccer Begins
Women’s summer soccer practice kicks off this Tuesday, all ages and inexperienced players are welcome.
