Fernie Singletrack 3

Fernie’s reputation as one of Western Canada’s premier mountain bike destinations was built on world-class trails, a passionate riding community, and a culture that welcomes riders from across the region. In June 2026, that reputation will once again take centre stage as Fernie Singletrack 3 (FST3) and the Ride & Roast Bike Festival bring riders, visitors, and local businesses together for a three-day celebration of biking in the Elk Valley.

Produced by the TransRockies Race Series, Fernie Singletrack 3 is a three-day mountain bike stage race capped at 500 riders. The event opens at the Montane Barn with rider arrivals, race staging, and community gatherings before three days of racing that connect Fernie with communities across the Elk Valley, finishing at the Elk Valley Nordic Centre.

With only 500 rider spots available, registrations are filling quickly as riders from across Western Canada look for the opportunity to experience Fernie’s legendary singletrack in a fully supported stage race format.

While the race provides the backbone of the weekend, the vision extends far beyond competition.

On Saturday, June 27, the Ride & Roast Bike Festival, organized by the Coal Creek Heritage Society, transforms the Montane Barn into a lively hub of activity where racers, residents, and visitors come together to celebrate Fernie’s bike culture. The festival will feature a range of community activities including an E-bike rally, Kids’ Bike Rodeo, Coal Creek heritage ride, a Townie bike contact and a lively mix of local food with a Lamb roast, farm activities, lawn games, live music and festival fun, creating a welcoming atmosphere for riders, families, and residents alike.

The objective is simple: create a true bike destination festival for Fernie.

Fernie Singletrack 3

Participants travel from across Western Canada—particularly Alberta—along with national and international riders who view Fernie as a must-ride destination. Riders typically travel with friends and family, stay multiple nights, and spend time exploring Fernie’s trails, restaurants, shops, and outdoor experiences.

For the Fernie business community, the opportunity is significant. Events like Fernie Singletrack 3 help reinforce Fernie’s identity as a leading mountain bike hub while generating meaningful tourism activity at the start of the summer riding season.

Just as importantly, the event supports the trail networks that make Fernie special. Partnership support helps strengthen and promote the trail systems that draw riders to the Elk Valley year after year.

Fernie businesses are invited to participate as community partners in building an event designed to celebrate the town’s riding culture while welcoming visitors to experience the trails and the community that makes them possible.

Riders interested in participating in the Fernie Singletrack 3 can learn more and register here, with the race limited to 500 participants and selling out.

Fernie’s trails built the destination. Fernie Singletrack 3 and Ride & Roast help share that story with riders from across Western Canada and beyond.
