It looks like new Peak Chair lift at Fernie will be opening for Christmas. Lift construction crews have been working around the clock to have the lift operating for the Holidays. The Peak Chair Lift has been running for for the past day and testing is proceeding. With any luck the chair will be loading in a couple of days!
Skiers and riders are looking forward to riding this lift to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of lift serviced skiing at Fernie Snow Valley. In 1962 the first lift began operating at this site. For more information on the history of skiing in Fernie read here.
