Island Lake is known Internationally for its catskiing and in recent years has become even more. Those of us who love visiting the lodge or want to check it out for the first time, and don’t have a catskiing booking, are invited to visit and experience a snowcat ride and gourmet lunch. Nordic Skiing has become a very popular activity in Fernie for good reason. Fernie offers 50+ KM Groomed Trails at Elk Valley Nordic Centre, Montane, Island Lake, Fernie Golf Course, and Fernie Alpine Resort. Rentals are available at Gearhub Sports, 401 1st Ave.
