The Fernie Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the launch of the 2025 Business Walk, an initiative aimed at checking in with local businesses to better understand their current challenges, successes, and support needs.

What is a Business Walk? A Business Walk is a simple, informal way to connect directly with local business owners. Through short, in-person conversations, volunteers gather insights on what’s working, what’s not, and how the Chamber and its partners can better support Fernie’s business community.

This year’s Business Walk will run from July 10 to mid-September, with survey results shared publicly in the fall. We’ll be aiming to connect with all 600 Fernie businesses—either in person or via online survey.

Why participate? This is your chance to have your voice heard. Whether you’re a business owner sharing your story or a community member helping gather information, your input shapes local priorities. The data collected directly informs the Chamber’s advocacy, resources, and programming efforts to build a resilient economy in Fernie.

Want to get involved? Join the Business Walk team! You’ll be paired with a teammate to visit 8–10 local businesses—one asks questions, the other takes notes. We’ll provide all materials and a short orientation. No experience needed, just a passion for our community.
