The City of Fernie’s 2023 Annual Municipal Report is now available for review. Municipalities are required to produce an annual report that states their goals and objectives for the coming year and demonstrates what progress has been made toward the preceding year’s goals and objectives. These goals and objectives are developed based on a variety of factors, including citizen input, Council’s vision, administration’s goals, and service area imperatives.

This annual report details the City of Fernie’s services and operations, outlines objectives and measures, and presents progress on performance.

Fernie’s compact neighbourhoods provide a diversity of housing options, and are accessible and friendly. A robust, diverse, and resilient economy, including natural resource and tourism industries, supports a skilled workforce. The beauty of the community, its healthy ecosystems, and bountiful recreation and leisure opportunities attract residents and visitors alike.” – Fernie’s Official Community Plan, adopted 2014.

Fernie residents are invited to provide feedback or ask questions about the 2023 Annual Municipal Report by completing the Feedback Form, or by sending an email to letstalk@fernie.ca with the subject line “2023 Annual Municipal Report.”

Written comments submitted by mail to City Hall will be received until Friday, June 21, 2024. Digital comments and questions will be received via Let’s Talk Fernie and email until Monday, June 24, 2024.

The Annual Report will be presented to Council at the Annual General Meeting on June 25, 2024, at 6:30 pm.
