The Elk Valley Dolphins Swim Club (EVDSC) is celebrating another strong season in the pool and turning that momentum into community support with the launch of its 2026 Swim-a-Thon—an annual fundraiser that directly strengthens athlete development, reduces financial barriers, and helps local swimmers compete on the national and international stage.
For more than 20 years, the Dolphins have been a cornerstone of youth sport in the Elk Valley, offering high-quality coaching from learn-to-swim programs through to a competitive team that represents the region across Western Canada and beyond. This year’s Swim-a-Thon continues that commitment to excellence and accessibility.
Half of all funds raised in the 2026 Swim-a-Thon will go toward subsidizing membership fees and maintaining coaching capacity, ensuring that swimmers of all backgrounds have access to safe, equitable, high-level training.
The remaining 50% will launch the club’s new EVDSC Scholarship Fund, supporting swimmers as they graduate and pursue post-secondary education—an investment in their future long after they hang up the goggles.
For Dolphins travelling to the Singapore National Championships, funds they personally raise will help offset their travel costs, bringing a world-class opportunity within reach for some of the club’s top athletes.
The Dolphins emphasize long-term athlete development, life skills, and community connection. Coaches and volunteers cultivate an environment where discipline, sportsmanship, confidence, and teamwork grow alongside athletic performance.
The club operates a full range of programming—from learn-to-swim through to masters—helping families build a water-safe, active lifestyle. The competitive team continues to turn heads with strong performances across the region, proudly representing the Elk Valley at meets near and far.
Every contribution helps. Residents can donate, share the fundraiser, or cheer on athletes as they take on the Swim-a-Thon. Community support ensures the Dolphins can continue to grow, train, travel, and inspire the next generation of swimmers.
As the EVDSC puts it: Every dollar makes a splash.
Support it here and help the Dolphins make a bigger splash in 2026.
