The Elk Valley Economic Initiative (EVEI) has released their “Elk Valley Business Retention & Expansion Report”.

You can read the full report here: Elk-Valley-BRE-Report-2021

The EVEI commented that the report describes findings from a business retention and expansion survey conducted online from October 22nd to December 22nd, 2021, for registered businesses in the Elk Valley. This is the first of four reports created from the survey data; the other three will be community specific reports with survey data broken down by businesses operating in that specific community.

The first section of the report summarizes the data and then outlines recommendations the EVEI, partner organizations, and local governments could use to improve the Elk Valley business climate. The second section showcases the full quantitative data obtained from the survey.

The goal of this report was to identify business development needs / challenges and create goal-oriented action items to address these needs / challenges. In addition, Elk Valley wide market research data was obtained to set the groundwork for future economic development in the Elk Valley.

The results of these four surveys can be used by the EVEI and its local member organizations to make well informed and data driven decisions focused on strengthening local businesses retention and expansion.
