The Columbia Basin Trust Non-Profit Advisors Program is quietly becoming one of the most practical support systems available to organizations across the Basin.

Instead of focusing on funding, the program delivers something many non-profits struggle to access—expert guidance and operational support. Through a series of free webinars, the Trust is helping organizations build capacity where it matters most: governance, financial management, planning, and day-to-day operations.

For those needing more than a webinar, the program offers organizational assessments, recommendations, and even subsidized access to specialized consulting when required. It’s structured, hands-on support that goes beyond theory.

This spring, that support continues with free in-person workshops in April 2026, open to Basin non-profits, staff, and volunteers. Together with the webinars, the offering reflects a clear direction—help organizations run better, not just apply for funding.

The program does not provide grants or project funding. Instead, it strengthens the foundation that allows non-profits to succeed long term.

For Fernie and Elk Valley organizations, the opportunity is straightforward: build stronger systems, make better decisions, and operate with more confidence.
