Fernie’s Kaleb Barnum won silver on March 23 at a FIS Ski Cross World Cup race at Craigleith Ski Club in Ontario, earning his first career World Cup podium.

At Craigleith Ski Club, Barnum advanced through the elimination heats to reach the men’s big final, where he finished second behind Federico Tomasoni of Italy.

The result was confirmed in official International Ski Federation World Cup results for the Craigleith stop, part of the 2026 Ski Cross World Cup circuit.

It was also a double podium for Canada. Kris Mahler finished third, placing two Canadians on the podium at the only Canadian stop on the World Cup schedule.

Barnum, 21, is a member of the Alpine Canada Alpin ski cross team and has been competing on the European Cup circuit this season.
