The Fernie Trails Alliance (FTA) celebrated a wonderfully successful Trail Razr VII fundraiser on May 17, 2025, raising an impressive $25,000 in support of Fernie’s beloved trail network.
Held at the Fernie Memorial Arena, the event brought together outdoor enthusiasts, community supporters, and local businesses for an evening filled with lively games, exciting auctions, delicious food, and energetic dancing—all dedicated to Fernie’s trails. Notable highlights included a spirited live auction and a raffle for a Specialized Turbo Porto e-Bike valued at $7,000, generously donated by Ski Base.
The significant funds raised at Trail Razr VII will directly support crucial trail maintenance, improved signage, and new trail development initiatives. These efforts ensure that Fernie’s extensive trails continue to be safe, sustainable, and accessible for everyone—from hikers and trail runners to mountain bikers and adaptive trail users.
The sustainability efforts of the event were remarkable, with 270 attendees and over 30 volunteers generating just one-third of a bag of garbage. Thanks to conscientious sorting, all plastic, cardboard, and organic waste was either recycled at the Waste Transfer Centre or composted.
