By taking action and creating a FireSmart property, you will dramatically increase the resistance of your home and property to damage caused by wildfire.

As part of the personal preparedness messaging the Regional District East Kootenay’s is stressing that residents should sign up for the emergency Regional Evacuation Notification System (ENS). The ENS keeps residents and property owners informed in case of evacuation orders or alerts during critical events such as wildfires, floods, or hazardous material incidents within the East Kootenays.
