FIS Ski Cross Junior World Championships

This weekend at the FIS Ski Cross Junior World Championships in Idre Fjäll, Sweden, Fernie skier Kaleb Barnum claimed the gold medal and was crowned the ski cross Junior World Champion. Barnum secured his victory by winning each of his four heats.

“It feels pretty sweet,” Barnum said with a smile. “It was an exhilarating day, and racing against Nick (teammate Katrusiak) in the finals was a highlight, especially since we started from opposite sides of the bracket. The track was big and fast today, with an impressive drag strip at the end.”

He is a Canadian Ranked and British Columbia Athlete who has won Gold at the BC Winter Games and BC Provincials in alpine ski racing and a former member of the Fernie Judo Club, Fernie Mountain Bike Club and the Fernie Rod and Gun Club.
