The Ghostriders defeated Beaver Valley 4-0 and took the series 4 games to two to become the Kootenay Conference champs. Congratulations to the players, coaches and all the fans who have supported the Riders!
Kyler Watson (2G) scored the game winner and Nick Kunyk had the shutout in net in a convincing series ending win on Saturday night here in Fernie.
Up next Fernie will play the Revelstoke Grizzlies, who won the the Okanagan-Shuswap Conference championship. Revelstoke will have a home ice advantage in the KIJHL championship series.
Revelstoke defeated Kamloops,North Oak and Princeton, and Fernie defeated Creston, Columbia Valley and Beaver Valley.
The winner will then move on to play in the Mowat Cup being hosted by Kimberley.
