With the focus on getting more golfers out on the course new GM and Head Pro Max Sherwood has announced new green fee rates this season. Starting with opening week from May 11 to May 18, 2017 enjoy 18 holes of golf anytime for $39.00 (plus tax). Once into the regular season the fees have been reduced during afternoon, early morning and twilight tee times. For those wishing to golf regularly but not become a full member, there are two options. The 360 Card ($99 plus tax), which offers the first round for free and 15% off green fees 7 days a week (some restrictions apply) and the 10 round anytime punch pass for $550 (plus tax).
Sherwood has identified the unique layout of the Fernie course with the clubhouse located right in the middle and has developed a new 1-hour short loop. For $19.00 (plus tax) you can golf a 4 or 5-hole loop available anytime Monday through Thursday (subject to availability). This offers an opportunity to get out and enjoy the course without committing to whole lot of time or money!
In an effort to encourage young golfers, children of adult members golf for free and adult club members can sponsor any junior in the community to a free full membership and driving range pass. The club offers junior lessons and camps with CPGA instructors, including every Thursday a free 30-minute drop-in junior clinic with a different lesson each week and 5 holes of golf. This July the club is excited to be hosting the Future Links Western Canadian Championships Golf Tournament for the top 17 and under boys and girls in Western Canada.
Founded in 1918, the Fernie Golf and Country Club will be celebrating its 100th Anniversary next season. Sherwood and the professional staff at the club are looking forward to hosting events all season long in celebration.
