Bears have been reported throughout town; Ridgemont Place, Mt Trinity, Silver Ridge, West Fernie, Annex, Fernie Mountain, and James White parks and throughout the Elk River Dike Trail.
A number of reports have involved bears accessing commercial dumpsters. A reminder to businesses and strata’s to make sure dumpsters are kept closed during the day and locked up at night and that the area surrounding is kept clean and odor free. Bear Aware has been visiting businesses with reminders.
