I wasn’t that excited about opening day. The week had been cold and windy and I was busy with kids hockey and other things. Then is snowed 20cm’s Friday night and I found myself at the hill around 8:15 Saturday morning and in line shortly after. That was when the excitement began!
The energy from the crown was electric and skiers buddies were everywhere. Shortly after 9AM we were ripping untracked lines in Lizard and Cedar Bowls!
Senior management were helping out today and ensuring the logistics of the opening flowed smoothly. All of the old-side terrain was open and the lift lines were moving swiftly. After skiing cold beer and nice food was plentiful.
Not in a few years has the opening been so nice and so early. Next weekend we get to do it again. It was a great opening day, the Griz must be happy with the happenings in the valley!
