Rabbits & Baskets is a collaborative, family-friendly spring celebration hosted by the Fernie Youth Action Network and the Fernie Heritage Library. This well-loved annual event brings families together for a joyful afternoon of creativity, storytelling, and exploration.

Children and families will begin by creating their own spring baskets and bunny ears at crafting stations inside the library. After gathering together for a short rabbit-themed storytime, participants will take part in a Spring Bunny Bingo Scavenger Hunt throughout the library and garden.

Rather than a traditional egg scramble, the Bunny Bingo Hunt encourages children to explore the space, work together, and search for hidden spring-themed surprises. This approach creates a more inclusive and relaxed experience where children of all ages can participate at their own pace.

Teen volunteers from the Fernie Youth Action Network Teen Team will play an important leadership role by helping facilitate crafts, assisting younger participants during the hunt, and managing the prize table.

The event is designed to foster community connection, encourage creativity, and provide opportunities for youth leadership and community involvement.
This is a free, drop-in program. Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult.
